Question:  I'm in a 10 team fantasy league with 1 keeper (Jamal Lewis). I have the 3rd pick in the 1st round. I'd like to get a 2nd RB, and my top options are Tiki Barber and William Green. Who do you think would be a better choice?

I could also take Harrison, but by the time I pick again (18th pick) all my hopefuls for #2 RB probably will be gone. So, do you think I should pass on him?

My league awards 1 point per reception and 1 point for each 10 receiving yds, even for RBs.

6 pts for TDs (12 for TDs over 50 yds) and 1 pt for every 10 yds rushing.

Will Barber get the goal-line carries?

How much will Green be involved in the passing game?

Thanks!

Jeff

Answer:  wow....this is a great in depth question....and i hope that what i say helps

i definetly understand your concern about what will be available in those later rounds because I was recently in a 17 team league draft and by the time the second round came there was not much big name talent left.

My thoughts on Tiki Barber: Seemingly towards the end of the season last year Giants head coach, Fassel was directing the offensive game a little more towards Barber. What I'm saying is that he began seeing the ball a lot more. We all saw how good this ended up in that last game against San Fransisco. He ended the season with an amazing 1,387 yards which isn't anything to laugh at. With a more reinforced defensive line I would expect a similar performance from Barber because he is the main man of the Giants offensive line.

My thoughts on William Green: To tell you the truth I was uncertain as to who Green was and neeeded to take a quick check to find his team. Green is a person who I say will not be as much of a point maker as either Harrison or Barber. You've thrown out the question that is on the mind of everyone around Cleveland. How often will he be involved not just in the passing game, but in the game in general. He ended the season with some pretty weak numbers, but I wouldn't expect much from the Browns. Although I must add after seeing the performance of that offense it is still a question that is up in the air and I don't think it will be answered until after the season has begun.

Marvin Harrison- One of the best wide recievers out there. I'd put him second only to Terrell Owens. Also he is the main guy that you'll see Peyton Manning throwing to during the season as you've seen in the last 3 seasons he's been with the colts. He always scores at least 13 touchdowns in a season and a valuable aspect as a wide reciever.

Ok, now your best choice between Barber and Green would be Barber. Now should you pass on Harrison. This is something you personally will need to decide. It all depends on how valuable he will be to you in comparision to a RB. I personally would go with Harrison, but you need to judge which would be more valuable in your league. You are the better judge at how the teams in your league play and you should know thier strategy better then I do so I think you should really sit and consider which would be better.

I hope that helps, if not then please feel free to contact me for more information and any help I can offer.

Question:  I'm in a 10 team, 1 keeper, traditional scoring

league. I'm keeping Ricky Williams and have the 3rd draft pick. Here's the players that will be available, assuming Faulk and McAllister will go 1 and 2, who would you keep?

Marshall Faulk

Deuce McAllister

Edgerrin James

Travis Henry

Jamal Lewis

Marvin Harrison

Terrell Owens

Randy Moss

Thanks!

Answer:  ok im going to try and sort of break it down player by player...

first congratulations on the very smart decision to keep Ricky Williams....he will be a great aspect to the running back position....

Being in a league with so many teams big name players are very hard to come by. I just finished a draft with 17 teams and it was getting desperate in the last rounds. Depending on how many running backs your league runs in the starting line could effect your choice here. By keeping Ricky Williams you have a big gun in that section and can fill those other holes with players who maybe considered sleeper picks or players of average skill. Maybe just underestimated players. So as for who to keep I'd lean a little more in favor of some of those highly talented wide recievers.

Terrell Owens is defenetly considered the best at what he does. He has constantly preformed beautifully for the 49ers and will bring you many good things in the way of points. Another great wide reciever is also on your list...Randy Moss. Both are great asperations on the feild. My opinion...and what I would do if I was you would be to keep one of them. With a league of 10 like I said talent goes fast. So gain a foot hold...grab a big name steady player in each position.

Now that I've narrowed it down to those two it is time to make the big choice....Randy Moss or Terrell Owens....and I think I'll have to go with Owens. He has a great reputation and he hold to it in my opinion. Randy Moss won't stay free for long for a good reason, but Owens has a better quarterback to keep the game going. But it is still a hard choice. Both are seemingly the star wide outs for their respective teams and are seemingly the favorites for the quarterbacks to pass to.

If you aren't 100% in agreement....or still uncertain as to which is the better pick you should really judge the two. There are many similarities in both players, but what is important to you is who will not only see the ball more, but who will also do more with the ball when they get it.

I hope this has helped you out. If not then please feel more the free to contact me again and I could try and break it down a little more. Also this question and the whole Fantasy Football idea in general is a matter of opinion. You can look at stats and judge players ability, but sometimes you find two that you just can't decide between and it comes down to opinion.

Thanks for the question. Hope I helped.
